The Africa Report - - LETTERS - Lucien Kouassi President, Association of Ivorians in New York (A.I.N.Y.), via Facebook

We all saw what happened after the shooting at the offices of the Charlie Hebdo magazine in France: almost all of Africa’s leaders travelled to Paris to unanimously denounce the attacks. I have yet to see African leaders voicing such unanimous support for the Kenyan authorities over the recent violence in Kenya [‘#Iamgarissa,’ TAR70 May 2015]. Furthermore, I have yet to see Africans denouncing such inhuman behaviour through social media. Could it be that African lives are less valuable than any other human being on planet Earth? I hope not.
