Vietnam to launch digitised immunisation
A nation-wide system aimed at improving immunisation rates through digital technology will be implemented at almost 40,000 immunisation stations and health clinics across Vietnam starting in June. The National Immunisation Information System will be available on computers, smartphones and tablets, allowing parents and healthcare workers to stay up to date on children’s immunisation records and schedules. Speaking at the launch in Hanoi, Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said the move was a much-needed overhaul. “Vietnam has some 1.7 million newborns per year, many of whom missed their vaccinations under the [previous] National Expanded Programme on Immunisation,” he said.
