Those who dream of visiting Vietnam’s majestic town of Hoi An while simultaneously pushing themselves in one of mankind’s ultimate physical challenges will be well served at this year’s Hoi An International Marathon. An expected 2,400 runners will take to the Unesco World Heritage town’s narrow streets to compete in either the full marathon, the 10km race or the lighter 5km fun run – hopefully without stopping to gawk at the hundreds of hanging lanterns and wonderfully ornate architecture that typify this former port town and trading hub.
