Among the performances featured during the closing nights of the Singapore International Festival of Arts will be My Lai, a musical performance commemorating the 1968 massacre of Vietnamese villagers by American soldiers. String ensemble Kronos Quartet, tenor Rinde Eckert and Vietnamese instrumentalist Vân-Ánh Vanessa Võ – each with their own array of awards, from Emmys to Grammys – seek to tell the story of US helicopter pilot Hugh Thompson Jr, who tried to stop the calamity. Stick around until 2 September and you can catch Kronos performing all their favourites – a rare treat by a legendary string quartet that’s worked with some of music’s biggest names, including Paul McCartney and Philip Glass.
