There will be nary a yoga mat in sight this month when the Bali In­ter­na­tional Triathlon freestyles its way into Sa­nur once more. The largest tra­di­tional vil­lage in Bali serves as the start­ing and fin­ish­ing point for the gru­elling event, which this year prom­ises a new course steeped in Ba­li­nese cul­ture. An ex­pected 2,000 par­tic­i­pants will take part, with the most hard­core com­plet­ing the Olympicdis­tance course, which is com­prised of a 1.5km swim in the wa­ters off Mer­tasari beach, a 40km bike ride from Sa­nur to Gian­yar and a 10km run through the vil­lage's streets.
