A new production of Catherine Johnson’s mega-successful musical Mamma Mia! hits the stage in Jakarta this month, with more performances lined up for Singapore in November. The Abba-inspired feel-good hit is one of the longest-running shows on New York’s Broadway and London’s West End, and has been performed for over 60 million theatregoers around the globe. The story, regarded as a triumph for female empowerment, follows a young bride-tobe in a Greek island paradise as she rushes to find out who her father is before her wedding day, all set against a backdrop of classic Abba tunes like “Dancing Queen”, “S.O.S.”, “Take a Chance on Me” and “Voulez-Vous” for true family-friendly fun.
