The gov­ern­ment-ap­proved dic­tio­nary of Myan­mar lacks en­tries for words like "vagina" and "pe­nis", and par­ents in­stead use eu­phemisms like "flower" and "pump" – if they speak to their kids about sex at all. Young peo­ple fi­nally had the chance to learn about the sub­ject on their smart­phones last year when a trailer for the adult film Vi­o­let of Myan­mar was posted, cre­at­ing a sen­sa­tion in the con­ser­va­tive coun­try and prompt­ing of­fi­cials to in­ves­ti­gate.
