Jack Garratt tops BBC Sound of 2016 poll

Fol­low­ing on from his re­cent win at the BRITs Critic’s Choice award, singer-song­writer Jack Garratt has been named as this year’s win­ner on the BBC’s Sound of 2016 poll. Garratt was up against some of the UK’s most promis­ing fresh tal­ent, in­clud­ing the likes of Alessia Cara, Blos­soms and Mura Masa, but the Buck­ing­hamshire multi-in­stru­men­tal­ist won the hearts and minds of the DJs, jour­nal­ists, crit­ics and fes­ti­val book­ers that con­trib­ute to de­cid­ing who tops the list. Garratt’s de­but al­bum, Phase, is due to ar­rive in Fe­bru­ary (you can pre-or­der it at the top right of this page) and blends el­e­ments of pop, R&B and elec­tron­ica.
