Jean Paul Gaultier has been releasing flankers of Le Male for years now. All of which have remained strikingly similar to the original. So I can understand a little skepticism from suggesting that Ultra Male will be the fragrance that will finally convince you to put Le Male in the back of your collection. Unlike the original -- which opens up with a cool lavender mint -- Ultra Male starts with dark candied fruit notes. A sweet pear note stands out and lingers throughout the entire scent. With black lavender and vanilla blended with fruits, Ultra Male switches gears from the loud boisterous scent of Le Male to become a darkly seductive treat.
