STARS DARE TO BARE!

Celebrities doff their duds for charity — and fun

There must be something in that Hollywood water.

Actor John Stamos celebrated his 54th in August by showing off his birthday suit in an eye-opening Instagram post but he isn’t the only star getting naked.

It appears Tinseltown’s latest trend is to bare it all and there’s a number of reasons why they do it.

Some do it for social causes.

Celebs such as Miley Cyrus, Lena Dunham and Chelsea Handler have shocked our social feeds — and sometimes sensibilities — in support of the #freethenipple campaign. The movement was inspired by the movie of the same name that advocates for equal rights and empowerment for women.

Some might be liberating themselves from pesky hackers. Recently, hackers leaked nude photos of Tiger Woods and Kristen Stewart to name but a few. In 2014, cyberattackers stole raunchy data from dozens of celebrities’ phones, leaking nudes and blindsiding stars like Jennifer Lawrence with their smorgasbord of celebrity skin.

But rather than give in to humiliation, Lawrence reclaimed her power by doing a nude shoot for Vanity Fair magazine where she called the scandal a “disgusting sex crime.’

Whether these stars are making a statement or simply trying to break the internet, all we know is they love their bodies and they want us to know it.

Here’s a look at some of Hollywood’s biggest names who showed their favourite assets on social media.
