Brouhaha over Harry’s beard. File this in the “Really? Seriously?” folder: Prince Harry is being bombarded for breaking military protocol when he wore a beard at Remembrance Day services in London. One member of the cavalry told the Daily Mirror:

“Prince Harry is letting us all down. There’s no place for beards in the Queen’s cavalry. He should have shaved it off for such an important day.” While the people’s prince retired from service in 2015, he still wore his officer’s uniform. But is Harry really doing anything wrong given he is no longer on active service? “I can confirm that Prince Harry is no longer a serving officer and therefore does not have to comply with any of these regulations,” a spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence told the Daily Mail. Only on rare occasions and with few exceptions can a serving soldier wear a beard while on parade.
