Mickey Thompson Deegan 38 Pro 2 Wheels

When it came time to mount up our new Deegan 38 A/T tires, what better way to do it than on a set of Mickey Thompson (MT) Deegan 38 Pro 2 wheels? The wheels are an eight-spoke design in two-tone matte black, which I accent with mud, dirt and snow. While I’m not a fan of ‘faux’ anything, MT’s designers gave the wheel a rugged look with the faux bead locks, crested emblems on the centre caps, and laser etched Deegan 38 and Mickey Thompson logos. They come in 15" to 20" fitments, in a variety of sizes, and are TPMS compatible. MT says, “All Deegan 38 Series wheels use 60 Degree Conical Bulge Seat lugs but will also accept E/T Style lug nuts which provide a lugcentric installation.” Our test wheels for the Jeep were 17x9, 5x5, with 4.5" of backspacing and a -12 offset. They had no trouble clearing the rear sway bars of our 4" Teraflex suspension (unlike the stock 18" wheels which need 1.5" spacers), while keeping our 33" Deegan 38 A/T tires almost under the stock fenders. They look great, wash up easy, and held a bead down to 10 psi – nice!
