North­ern Arm Day

The Recre­ation com­mit­tee of North­ern Arm are hav­ing North­ern Arm Day July 21 with a pan­cake break­fast at 8 a.m. from the He­meon Hall by the fire­fight­ers. At 11 a.m. food and games will be available at the Arthur Jackman Memo­rial Play­ground. Along with food and games there will be live mu­sic dur­ing the day in­clud­ing the band Re­call.

Peter­view Day

The town of Peter­view will be host­ing Peter­view Day on July 21 with more in­for­ma­tion to fol­low.

Paint Nite

Team Heathers Hope will be hav­ing a Paint Nite on July 18 from 7-9 p.m. at the Botwood Kin Cen­tre in Botwood. If you want to at­tend the reg­is­tra­tion is $30 and can email the money to Ja­nis Pey­ton at bjanis­pey­ton@hot­mail. com. The pic­ture will be a beach scene as Heather loved the beach. BMAS Fundraiser

The Botwood Mu­ral Arts So­ci­ety is ask­ing any­one who has re­cy­clables to please do­nate them to our group as part of a fundraiser for the up­com­ing Global Mu­ral Con­fer­ence. The con­fer­ence will take place in Botwood from Sept. 12-15. Artists from all over the world will be vis­it­ing our town at that time. Many thanks for all your sup­port in help­ing make this spe­cial event hap­pen.

Botwood Kins­men Bingo

The Botwood Kins­men Bingo is tak­ing the sum­mer off and will re­turn in Septem­ber to play again. The Kins­men Club wishes to thank the busi­nesses who sell the cards and all the play­ers who sup­port the Kins­men to serve the com­mu­ni­ties great­est needs. The Royal Cana­dian Le­gion Branch 5 Botwood proudly presents “Ring of Fire: A Johnny Cash Ex­pe­ri­ence” on Thurs­day, Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. at Botwood Le­gion 7 Cir­cu­lar Road, Botwood. Come out and see one of Canada’s pre­miere Johnny Cash tribute bands from On­tario. Cost is $20 ad­vance and $25 at the door. Wa­ter con­ser­va­tion

With the warmer weather ap­proach­ing, con­ser­va­tion of wa­ter is rec­om­mended and wa­ter­ing lawns and wash­ing ve­hi­cles is asked to be done early morn­ing or late evening time pe­riod.

Adult curl­ing

Res­i­dents of Botwood are asked if there is in­ter­est in start­ing an adult curl­ing league in the fall. If you are in­ter­ested leave your name at 257-2839 and some­one will con­tact you in the fall if there is enough in­ter­est. Play­ing Thurs­day nights for curl­ing to be de­cided in the fall.

Come Home Year 2020

Botwood will be cel­e­brat­ing a Come Home Year in 2020 from July 24-Aug. 3, 2020. If you or your groups would like to host an event or be in­volved in an event can con­tact the Come Home com­mit­tee when more de­tails are available.

Pig Roast/Show and Shine for Cys­tic Fi­bro­sis

The River­side Rid­ers Mo­tor­cy­cle club will be host­ing their fourth an­nual Pig Roast and Show and Shine Mo­tor cy­cle show on July 14 at the River­side Rid­ers club house in Peter­view. There will be burg­ers, hot dogs and of course pig din­ners available. Come out to show your bike or vote on the best bikes around stay for the dance to fol­low later in the evening. The rid­ers are also sell­ing tick­ets on a mo­tor­cy­cle themed quilt at a $1 each with pro­ceeds go­ing to cys­tic fi­bro­sis for the ticket draw and show and shine pro­ceeds. More de­tails to fol­low as they be­come available.

Va­ri­ety Con­cert DVD Sale

The Botwood Fire Depart­ment will be sell­ing DVDs of the va­ri­ety con­cert this year. The cost of the DVD will be $15. If there is an in­ter­est just leave a mes­sage and we’ll be in touch.

Chase the Ace Lot­tery

Royal Cana­dian Le­gion Branch 5, Botwood, on Wed­nes­days from 7-8:45 p.m. Tick­ets are three for $5. Draw held at 9 p.m. There is a 50/50 draw each night. Tick­ets are sold at the Le­gion. Must be 19 years of age to at­tend.
