THE CULTURE OF ENERGY

Alberta Oil - - SMART MONEY -

Since Calgary Opera’s inception in 1972, the Oil & Gas sector has been a valued partner of our organization, and has played a key role in making our communities stronger, and our province a better place to live. The Oil & Gas sector’s continued investment in Arts & Culture has allowed countless artists to share their gifts with the people of Alberta, inspiring audiences big and small – young and old.

Some of our first partners (Canadian Western Natural Gas Co., Gulf Oil Canada Ltd., and Hudson’s Bay Oil & Gas Co.) were instrumental in launching Calgary Opera. Their support along with dozens of other Oil & Gas companies, energized our growth throughout the booms and the busts of the last four decades. Your support has fueled Calgary Opera’s innovative and powerful mainstage productions, and has spurred over 100,000 students and countless community members across Alberta to participate in opera and the arts in their community.

THANK YOU from the Calgary Opera Board, Staff and Volunteers. And to our current partners, thank you for making the City of Calgary and the Province of Alberta a great place to live and work, and for promoting the importance of vibrant cultural communities.
