Canada ex­ported about US$325 bil­lion worth of goods and ser­vices to the U.S. in 2015 and whether we like it or not, mar­ket con­di­tions to the south have a way of tip­toe­ing across the bor­der, di­rectly im­pact­ing the Cana­dian econ­omy. Trumpfla­tion isn’t iso­lated to the U.S. and there are al­ready in­di­ca­tions this phe­nom­e­non has made its way to Canada: bonds were sold off, yields went up and lend­ing costs in­creased.
