Harvest time, church and birthdays

What’s happening in Inglisvill­e? Many things! The harvest and bake auction was held at the Inglisvill­e Hall on Oct. 8. They raised $845 and proceeds went to the Helping Hands Ladies Group.

Sandy Bent underwent surgery on her knee Oct. 18 at the Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville. We wish Sandy good luck.

Anthony Stoddart went to Halifax on Oct. 18 for more treatment. He is doing well and we wish him continued wellness.

An advisory meeting was held Sunday, Oct. 16 after the church service, which was led by Rev. Clyde Bonnell. The next church service will be held Nov. 6.

On Oct. 11, a meeting was held at the Inglisvill­e Community Hall to make plans to raise money for the hall. Quite a number came and were very interested in keeping the hall running. Weather permitting, there will be a baked bean, ham and scallop supper on Nov. 19.

Happy birthday to Marjorie Whitman who celebrated her 99th birthday in September. She is a patient at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital the past several weeks. We wish her a complete recovery.

The Helping Hands Ladies Group met at Reva Woods’ Oct. 20.

Riley Richardson of Mount Hanley was an Oct. 16 visitor at Juanita and Ardis Richardson’s’, while Chester Jr. Orde of Greenwood was a recent caller at Reva Wood’s.

A service was held at Grace Haven in Paradise on Oct. 2. The next one will be Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. with Reverend C. Bonnell. Everyone is welcome.

Juanita Richardson, brother Laurie, and niece Lisa spent three days in Prince Edward Island from Sept. 23 to the 25. It was an enjoyable trip.
