Drugs, weapons and impaired driving keep court busy
Probation, fine for cannabis
On Feb. 15, Keegan Edward Healy of Halifax was sentenced to 12 months probation and fines totalling $650 after he entered a guilty plea to possession of cannabis resin.
The 26-year-old was charged after an incident on Feb. 28, 2016 in Grand Pré.
Conditional discharge for possessing weapon
Joseph Benjamin Kaiser, 35, of Auburn, entered a guilty plea on a charge of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
He was sentenced to a 12month conditional discharge, a 10-year firearm prohibition, forfeiture of the weapon and a mandatory DNA order.
He was charged after an incident in Auburn on Sept. 30, 2016.
Guilty of breaching conditions
George David Withshaw, 61, entered guilty pleas on three charges of breaching conditions, possess of hydromorphone and possession of illegal tobacco. He was charged in Kentville on Oct. 26, 2016.
The East Tremont resident was fined $650 plus a $100 victims’ services fine and handed 15 months probation.
A Glenwood, N.B. resident, Colleen O’donnell, was given an eight-month conditional discharge for breaching probation in Kings County. The 53-year-old entered a guilty plea on the April 16, 2016 incident.
Karen Elizabeth Wentzell, 54, entered a guilty plea to driving while impaired on Aug. 3, 2016 in Cambridge. The Berwick resident was fined $1,600 and handed a one-year driving prohibition. follow us on Twitter @Kingsnsnews
