OBITUARY – BRYDON, Murray Mcfall
Murray Mcfall Brydon – 95, of Black Rock, Kings County, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Black Rock, he was the son of the late Max and Stella (Bowlby) Brydon. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Joyce (Kinsman); two daughters, Charlotte (Lester) Livingstone, Berwick; Sheila (Larry) Macdonald, Somerset; three sons, Elvin (Paulette), Berwick; Leslie (Debbie), Newmarket, Ontario; Eric (Lorraine), Burlington, Ontario; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Madeline Hayes and her husband, Winston Hayes; a great grandson, Adrian Hardman.
There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 in the Black Rock Baptist Church, Pastor Marie Mccallum and Reverend Elizabeth Johnson officiating. A private family burial will take place in the West Black Rock Cemetery. No flowers, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Black Rock Baptist Church or Grand View Manor – Serenity Suite. Her younger brother John Valeriote, his wife Sherron and their children Noelle, John-david and Timothy will remember her dearly. As will her brother in-law, Graham Keevill, his wife Sandra and their children David and Lisa.
Velma was blessed with wonderful parents who have passed ahead of her; Dr. Silvio Valeriote, Velma Moyer (Hammond-valeriote) and Fred Moyer, all of Guelph Ontario.
People in Guelph, Waverley and Annapolis Royal all mourn her passing today but celebrate a life that will be remembered and a fire that ignited us all.
How is her ocean tonight? It is flat and calm and the sun is setting over the bay.
A Memorial Mass was held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church,
Fall River, Nova Scotia on Saturday, March 4th, 2017 at 11 a.m., followed by a reception at the Waverley Legion. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia on a future date. These will be times that we can remember the joy. We would love for people to share their remembrances of her and in doing so there will be inevitable warmth, comfort and humour. This should not be a sad time. Velma would want us to remember her with a smile on our faces. Visitation was held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service and reception was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, Reverend Clyde Lowe, Pastor Patrick Gilbert and Reverend Bruce Patstone officiated.
