Mur­ray Mcfall Bry­don – 95, of Black Rock, Kings County, passed away Fri­day, March 3, 2017 in Grand View Manor, Ber­wick. Born in Black Rock, he was the son of the late Max and Stella (Bowlby) Bry­don. He is sur­vived by his wife of 75 years, Joyce (Kins­man); two daugh­ters, Char­lotte (Lester) Liv­ing­stone, Ber­wick; Sheila (Larry) Macdon­ald, Som­er­set; three sons, Elvin (Paulette), Ber­wick; Les­lie (Deb­bie), New­mar­ket, On­tario; Eric (Lor­raine), Burling­ton, On­tario; nine grand­chil­dren; 17 great grand­chil­dren; five great great grand­chil­dren; sev­eral nieces, neph­ews and cousins. He was pre­de­ceased by a sis­ter, Made­line Hayes and her hus­band, Win­ston Hayes; a great grand­son, Adrian Hard­man.

There will be no visi­ta­tion, by re­quest. The fu­neral ser­vice will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thurs­day, March 9, 2017 in the Black Rock Bap­tist Church, Pas­tor Marie Mc­cal­lum and Rev­erend El­iz­a­beth John­son of­fi­ci­at­ing. A pri­vate fam­ily burial will take place in the West Black Rock Ceme­tery. No flow­ers, by re­quest. Do­na­tions in mem­ory may be made to the Black Rock Bap­tist Church or Grand View Manor – Seren­ity Suite. Joe, Prince Luc and the young Princess Tessa and three great grand­chil­dren; Har­mony, Jes­sica, and Tay­lor.

Her younger brother John Va­le­ri­ote, his wife Sher­ron and their chil­dren Noelle, John-david and Ti­mothy will re­mem­ber her dearly. As will her brother in-law, Gra­ham Keevill, his wife San­dra and their chil­dren David and Lisa.

Velma was blessed with won­der­ful par­ents who have passed ahead of her; Dr. Sil­vio Va­le­ri­ote, Velma Moyer (Hammond-va­le­ri­ote) and Fred Moyer, all of Guelph On­tario.

Peo­ple in Guelph, Waver­ley and An­napo­lis Royal all mourn her pass­ing to­day but cel­e­brate a life that will be re­mem­bered and a fire that ig­nited us all.

How is her ocean tonight? It is flat and calm and the sun is set­ting over the bay.

A Memo­rial Mass was held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church,

Fall River, Nova Sco­tia on Satur­day, March 4th, 2017 at 11 a.m., fol­lowed by a re­cep­tion at the Waver­ley Le­gion. A Fu­neral Mass will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church in An­napo­lis Royal, Nova Sco­tia on a fu­ture date. Th­ese will be times that we can re­mem­ber the joy. We would love for peo­ple to share their re­mem­brances of her and in do­ing so there will be in­evitable warmth, com­fort and hu­mour. This should not be a sad time. Velma would want us to re­mem­ber her with a smile on our faces. Visi­ta­tion was held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Fri­day, March 3, 2017 in the White Fam­ily Fu­neral Home, Kentville, where the fu­neral ser­vice and re­cep­tion was held at 3 p.m. Satur­day, March 4, 2017, Rev­erend Clyde Lowe, Pas­tor Pa­trick Gil­bert and Rev­erend Bruce Pat­stone of­fi­ci­ated. Burial will be held at a later date. Fam­ily flow­ers only by re­quest. The fam­ily wishes to thank the VON, Pal­lia­tive Care, EHS Paramedics and the Doc­tors, Nurses and staff of Val­ley Re­gional Hos­pi­tal.
