Aca­dia Ban­tam AAS win main­land cham­pi­onships

Af­ter fin­ish­ing the reg­u­lar sea­son ranked in first place, the Aca­dia Ban­tam AA hockey team won the league cham­pi­onship ti­tle dur­ing the 2017 Ban­tam AA Main­land League Tour­na­ment held at the Mariners Cen­tre in Yar­mouth.

Aca­dia won with a 3-1 win over the host Yar­mouth Ban­tam AA team in the cham­pi­onship game on March 5.

Aca­dia and Yar­mouth both ad­vanced to provin­cials, which are be­ing held in Glace Bay in early April. Aca­dia qual­i­fied for provin­cials af­ter a 4-1 semi-fi­nal win over South Shore and Yar­mouth qual­i­fied af­ter a 7-3 win over Pictou in their semi-fi­nal.

Eight teams took part in the league tour­na­ment.


The Aca­dia Ban­tam AA team won the Ban­tam AA Main­land League cham­pi­onship on March 5 and has also qual­i­fied for ban­tam AA provin­cials.
