Annapolis Royal Lions Club news
More volunteers are sought
March is Eye Donor Awareness Month and for the past 24 years it has been celebrated as a time to honour donors and their families and to celebrate cornea recipients.
The invaluable efforts of eye banks and cornea surgeons to restore sight are also highlighted.
Lions clubs contribute to this effort by sponsoring eye banks worldwide, including Canada, and transporting live eye tissue.
For 100 years Lions have served, making their communities a better place to live. In celebration of this century of humanitarian service, Lions are working to serve more people than ever.
Did you know that on average every Lions club member serves 70 people per year? To continue this service the Annapolis Royal Lions Club needs more members. By growing its membership our club can serve more people and address increased needs at home and abroad.
If you are at least 19 years of age, male or female, interested in helping your community, contact Peter Sleight at 902-5322846 or email at petersleight@ eastlink.ca.
The next meeting of the Annapolis Royal Lions Club will be held on Monday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m. for 7 p.m. supper at the Annapolis Royal fire hall. The club needs 72 hours advance notice to reserve a seat.
