A $25,000 goal
Berwick nursery school raising funds for natural playground
The Berwick & District Nursery School’s executive is working toward installing a playground that will encourage students to explore the depths of their imaginations.
“A natural playground is built with the idea that kids can use installations for multiple purposes,” explained Jill Easson, the school’s secretary, in a recent interview.
“(Staff have) always wanted to do this and bring more of their lesson planning outside.”
The school’s traditional slideand-climbers style play structure is now off limits due to dry rot, leaving volunteers overseeing the non-profit, parent-led co-operative tasked with fundraising $25,000 to put in a new playground.
