The Royal Con­ser­va­tory of Mu­sic kicks off its 2017–18 season with a spe­cial gala pre­sen­ta­tion at Ko­erner Hall fea­tur­ing the one-and-only Bill Mur­ray, and get this, he’s going to sing. The ac­claimed actor and co­me­dian is also slated to sling around a few words from “Song of the Open Road” and “Song of My­self,” by iconic Amer­i­can poet Walt Whit­man, as well as words by Hem­ing­way and Mark Twain. And, ap­par­ently, there might even be a tango! Mur­ray is sched­uled to re­lease a clas­si­cal mu­sic al­bum, New Worlds, on Sept. 29. An en­sem­ble, led by Mur­ray’s friend cel­list Jan Vogler, will per­form works by Bach, Pi­az­zolla, Ravel and Bern­stein as fea­tured on the forth­com­ing record­ing.
