Here in St. Andrews, many of our seasonal residents have returned from their winter respite in Florida and the town has taken on a different energy as everyone catches up and reconnects. Arts, culture, nature and our exceptional Algonquin golf course all play important roles in revitalizing the activities of the town and greeting our many visitors. As Canada’s first seaside resort, St. Andrews is one of New Brunswick’s oldest and most distinctive settlements, offering a unique experience to those of us fortunate enough to reside here and the many tourists we welcome throughout the year. I was thinking of ways to describe living here, when I came across a recent blog post by Katy Macdonald of St. Andrews which I think is well worth sharing: Katy Macdonald as published in www.reeftocove.com. From this wonderful part of Canada, Debra and I have been fortunate to be embraced by the community. And we look forward to returning the favour for many years to come.
Welcome to Arabella Summer Harvest 2015
In our summer edition of ARABELLA, we offer you a unique reading experience representative of this glorious season. We believe the cover painting by Don Li captures the true spirit of summer. As you turn the pages, immerse yourself in the fragrant flower blossoms of Brian Davis, one of the best floral artists in the world; or dream of spending a day at the beach – California style – as we explore the sunny Malibu home of Canada’s leading architect, Richard Landry. Further afield, you’ll be inspired with a visual walk through some breathtaking Italian gardens that are not open to the public and in this issue are for your eyes only. Explore life from the magical perspective of fine art photographer Ysabel Lemay, as she shows you a rarified glimpse into the world of nature and discover what happens when famous musician Danny Mcbride takes up a paintbrush rather than a guitar – the results will amaze you. This is just a small taste of our ARABELLA summer menu. Many more sensory treats await your viewing pleasure.
