Four ar­rested for attack on Pak­istan pres­i­dent’s son

Islamabad: The Fron­tier Corps (FC) claimed to have ar­rested four sus­pects in­volved in a blast tar­get­ing the Pak­istan pres­i­dent’s son out­side a restau­rant in a Balochis­tan town. Sal­man Mam­noon, son of Pres­i­dent Mam­noon Hus­sain, es­caped the bomb attack on his con­voy in the industrial city of Hub on Sun­day evening. Three peo­ple were killed in the blast and 15 in­jured. Ab­dul Wasay, spokesman of Fron­tier Corps, told Dawn News that se­cu­rity forces and other agen­cies con­ducted a raid in Ramzan Goth area of Hub town and picked up the four sus­pects. “There is ev­i­dence of their in­volve­ment in the attack on the con­voy of Pres­i­dent Mam­noon Hus­sain’s son,” Wasey said, adding that the ar­rested men were be­ing in­ter­ro­gated by se­cu­rity per­son­nel.
