26 mi­grants drown in Aegean Sea

Ankara: At least 26 refugees, in­clud­ing four chil­dren and 11 women, died on Tues­day when their boat cap­sized in the Aegean Sea, with another 200 peo­ple who were try­ing to reach the Greek is­land of Kos. The 20-me­tre wooden boat left the Turk­ish penin­sula of Datca at about 6.00 a.m. on Tues­day and sank while sail­ing in the in­ter­na­tional wa­ters of the Aegean Sea, EFE news re­ported. Five coast­guard boats reached the scene and were able to res­cue 211 peo­ple and re­trieve the bod­ies of four chil­dren and 20 adults. Res­cue oper­a­tions are con­tin­u­ing for more sur­vivors.
