US, France stand to­gether against ter­ror­ism: Obama

Wash­ing­ton: The US stands “united” with France against ter­ror­ism, US Pres­i­dent Barack Obama said on Tues­day. At a joint press con­fer­ence with his French coun­ter­part Fran­cois Hol­lande, Obama said the Is­lamic State mil­i­tant group can­not be tol­er­ated and must be de­stroyed, Xin­hua re­ported. “The United States and France stand united, in to­tal sol­i­dar­ity, to de­liver jus­tice to th­ese ter­ror­ists,” the US pres­i­dent said. Obama also said that Tur­key has the right to de­fend its ter­ri­tory and airspace af­ter a Rus­sian war­plane was downed by the coun­try, urg­ing mea­sures should be taken to avoid an es­ca­la­tion of tension.
