Sumeet Rand­hawa iden­ti­fied as Thurs­day’s homi­cide vic­tim in Sur­rey

Sur­rey: The In­te­grated Homi­cide In­ves­ti­ga­tion Team an­nounced on Thurs­day that homi­cide vic­tim was 30 year old Sumeet Rand­hawa from Sur­rey, who was killed in shoot­ing at Sur­rey. He was known to po­lice. On Oc­to­ber 11, just be­fore 2 p.m., Sur­rey RCMP were called to the 6700-block of 130th Street for a re­port of a shoot­ing. Po­lice lo­cated the vic­tim and at­tempted life-sav­ing mea­sures un­til the BC Am­bu­lance Ser­vice and Sur­rey Fire De­part­ment took over. How­ever, the male suc­cumbed to his in­juries and was pro­nounced de­ceased at scene.

IHIT said it is work­ing closely with its part­ners in­clud­ing the Sur­rey RCMP Se­ri­ous Crime Unit, Lower Main­land In­te­grated Foren­sic Iden­ti­fi­ca­tion Ser­vices and the B.C. Coroners Ser­vice to gather ev­i­dence.

“This is be­lieved to be a tar­geted in­ci­dent re­lated to the on­go­ing Lower Main­land gang con­flict and any­one with in­for­ma­tion is asked to contact IHIT” says De­tec­tive Lara Jansen of IHIT.
