Man dead after se­ri­ous as­sault in Sur­rey

Sur­rey: On Oc­to­ber 21, at ap­prox­i­mately 2:45 a.m., the Sur­rey RCMP was called to the area of 104 Ave and King Ge­orge Boule­vard, after re­ceiv­ing a re­port.

How­ever, the caller and the vic­tim of the as­sault were un­co­op­er­a­tive with po­lice. The caller and the as­sault vic­tim ran away prior to po­lice ar­riv­ing, and were not lo­cated.

Later, at ap­prox­i­mately 2:40 p.m., on Oc­to­ber 21, Sur­rey RCMP was no­ti­fied by the BC Coro­ner Ser­vice that the adult male vic­tim had died in the hospi­tal as a re­sult of his in­juries. The In­te­grated Homi­cide In­ves­ti­ga­tion Team (IHIT) has been called and will be work­ing in part­ner­ship with the Sur­rey RCMP. Po­lice are cur­rently in the ev­i­dence gather­ing phase, no fur­ther in­for­ma­tion will be pro­vided at this time.
