83 year old woman struck by pick-up truck in Van­cou­ver

Van­cou­ver: Van­cou­ver Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a col­li­sion be­tween a pickup truck and a pedes­trian that claimed the life of an 83-year-old Van­cou­ver woman on Wed­nes­day. Just af­ter 11:30 a.m. on Novem­ber 7, the woman was walk­ing across East 30th Av­enue along the east side of Main Street when a black pick-up truck, mak­ing a right turn onto Main Street, struck her at a low speed. Paramedics took the woman to hos­pi­tal where she died a short time later.

The driver of the truck is co­op­er­at­ing with in­ves­ti­ga­tors. This is the city’s sixth pedes­trian fa­tal­ity of 2018. VPD’S Col­li­sion In­ves­ti­ga­tion Unit is ask­ing any­one with dash-cam footage, who may have been driv­ing in the area on Wed­nes­day morn­ing, be­tween 11:20 and 11:40 a.m., to con­tact them at 604-717-3012.
