TWO AMAZING FALL DANCE SHOWS
CUT THE SKY, MARRUGEKU | AUSTRALIA
Harbourfront Centre has launched a new contemporary dance series dubbed Torque. It kicks off with the Canadian premiere of Cut The Sky, by Australian dance company Marrugeku. The production is inspired by the poems written and spoken by Edwin Lee Mulligan. It runs for just two days, Nov. 23 to 24, Harbourfrontcentre.com.
ANNA KARENINA, NATIONAL BALLET OF CANADA
The North American premiere of John Neumeier’s Anna Karenina, based on Leo Tolstoy’s masterful work will feature principal dancers Svetlana Lunkina, Heather Ogden and Sonia Rodriguez. The co-production with the Bolshoi Ballet and Hamburg Ballet has been hailed as “an Anna Karenina of our times. The show runs Nov. 10 to 18, Nationalballet.ca.
