HAWAIIAN TO BUY NEW AIRBUS A321NEO

Business Traveler (USA) - - IN-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT -

Hawaiian Airlines has signed an agreement with Airbus for delivery of 16 new A321neo aircraft with the rights to purchase nine more. Airbus will deliver the aircraft between 2017 and 2020. The A321neo is a long-range, single-aisle aircraft, and Hawaiian Airlines has bought them to complement its current fleet of wide-body, twin-aisle aircraft.

The aircraft will open Hawaiian up to new markets where wide-body service is not suitable. The A321neo seats 190 passengers in a two-class configuration and can operate around 3,650 nautical miles. Seat widths will be wider than twinaisle A330s.

If Hawaiian Airlines chooses to purchase the nine additional aircraft, the combined list-price value of its order is $2.8 billion.
