Carry-on Bags, Drinks Will Cost on Frontier
Starting this summer, Frontier Airlines will charge for carry-on baggage and drinks. Passengers who book“basic fares,”which are the lowest fares booked outside of flyfrontier.com, will be charged anywhere from $25 to $100 for carry-on luggage.
The airline has also increased the checked bag fee for those who check at the airport. Passengers who pay for a checked bag online while booking will pay the standard $20, but passengers who check at the airport will pay $25. This new price structure will go into effect for economy and basic tickets booked on or after June 1 for travel on or after July 11.
Frontier will also begin charging for beverages beginning July 1. Passengers who buy economy or basic fares, which currently includes complimentary drinks will have to pay $1.99 for coffee, tea, soda and juice. Purchases require a debit card.
The airline will also lower the mileage accrual rate from 50 percent to 25 percent for passengers booking basic fares.
