The Landmark Restaurant, with a four-diamond rating from AAA, is open for three meals a day (except Sunday evening) and is popular with both local residents and hotel guests alike. It is highly regarded, even in a city that has one of the country’s highest ratios of restaurants per capita. A late-night impulsive dessert order for room service, which is available 24 hours, arrived in about 20 minutes.

Make a point to have a drink or several in The Library Bar, a friendly watering hole richly paneled in dark wood that has been recognized as one of both Dallas’and the nation’s best bars. Don’t be surprised if a neighborhood patron strikes up a conversation with strangers, as we learned on a wintery Sunday afternoon when the bar TV was tuned to the NFL playoffs. The bar’s drinks menu includes 100 varieties of martinis. It’s open from 2:00 PM to 1:00 AM daily and serves the lighter fare available in the restaurant.
