We’ll head back down to 46th Street and west to the Hud­son River to find the 900-foot-long World War II air­craft car­rier In­trepid, which now serves as the world’s largest naval mu­seum. The In­trepid Sea, Air & Space Mu­seum’s col­lec­tion boasts 30 re­stored air­craft, in­clud­ing a Lock­heed A-12 Black­bird, the Bell UH-1A Iro­quois “Huey” he­li­copter and a col­lec­tion of Soviet MiGs. Vis­i­tors can take a tour of the cruise mis­sile sub­ma­rine USS Growler, the Bri­tish Air­ways Con­corde and sailors’ one­time liv­ing quar­ters on the car­rier. And of course, the high­light is a chance to see up close the Space Shut­tle En­ter­prise in its new pav­il­ion. It re­opened in July fol­low­ing post-Sandy re­pairs.
