London Gatwick Airport (LGW) –
Demolition has begun at Gatwick Airport on the 50-year-old-plus South Terminal Pier 1. The new two-story terminal building that will rise in its place is part of a $281.2 million redevelopment project and is set to open in summer 2015.

Airlines will also have the option to offer “day before” check-in, using a new automated bag storage system.
The latest project in Gatwick’s redevelopment follows a series of upgrades, including the extension of the airport’s North Terminal and a revamped security area at the South Terminal.
