Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam Set for March Opening
The grand opening of the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is set for this month. The historic property is comprised of six 17th and 18th century double-front canal palaces with a unique grand staircase built by the architect of Louis XIV, Daniel Marot.
Designers have created 93 rooms and suites with views of the canal or the courtyard garden. The up-to-date rooms have large bathrooms, 42-inch flat screen TVs and complimentary WiFi. Two restaurants and a bar are available on the property and guests also have use of the fitness center and spa. The hotel also offers seven meeting and event rooms including a large ballroom, which hosts up to 160 people. A nod to the age of the building can be seen in the Maurer Room, which boasts original Rococo style decorations and 18th century wall paintings.
