Lufthansa Launches New Premium Economy Class
Lufthansa has unveiled its new Premium Economy Class, featuring a redesigned high-quality seat that offers greater comfort and up to 50 percent more room. The Premium Economy culinary experience will also be a step up from Economy Class, with higher quality cuisine served on porcelain dinnerware. Passengers in Premium Economy will also be able to take a second item of luggage with them at no extra charge.
The first aircraft to carry the new class of service will be the Boeing 747-8. Installation of Premium Economy seating is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2015, at which point there will be a total of 3,600 seats in the long-haul fleet cabins. Tickets will be available for sale in May, and the first flight is planned for October.
