Lotus Lantern Festival Seoul April 25 –27

A celebration of the Buddha’s coming into this world, the month-long Lotus Lantern Festival culminates in celebrations April 25 – 29. Over the weekend, thousands gather to enjoy stage performances by monks clad in colorful robes. Hands-on activities include lotus lantern making booths – relatively easy to do, but said to help one attain enlightenment in the next life. There are parades, exhibitions, singing and dancing performances. On the evening of April 26, over 100,000 lotus lanterns will light up the Seoul sky.
