King’s Day Amsterdam and throughout Holland April 26
Orange will dominate Holland’s landscape, as the country celebrates its rst King’s Day. Formerly called Queen’s Day, the name changed with the 2013 coronation of King Willem-Alexander. Festivities begin on the eve of King’s Day when a carnival atmosphere pervades the streets. There is a vrijmarkt (literally ‘free market’), street parties, and performances on every square. Revelers will ll the canals to celebrate the birthday of their King.
