Etihad Research Boosts Sleep Quality

Business Traveler (USA) - - UPFRONT -

Etihad Airways has launched a program aimed at improving sleep quality for long-haul passengers. Following more than a year of collaborative research with a panel of sleep experts from the American Center for Psychiatry and Neurology, the airline has developed several new products and introduced new initiatives to help passengers sleep better onboard.

The airline has introduced natural bedding from Athens-based Coco-Mat, a multi-layered sleep mattress now available throughout Diamond first class suites. The material is perforated with tiny holes, which enables the mattress to breathe and regulate body temperature.

All amenity kits in Diamond First class, Pearl Business class and Coral economy class now include sleep-friendly products. To promote sleep, bedtime beverages such as hot chocolate and herbal teas will be served to passengers traveling in all three classes.

Noise canceling headphones, which help minimize ambient cabin sounds, are also offered standard to all passengers, and all the carrier’s aircraft feature mood-lighting systems.
