ORD De­buts T5’s New Look — Chicago O’Hare In­ter­na­tional Air­port has un­veiled its newly ren­o­vated in­ter­na­tional Ter­mi­nal 5. The $26 mil­lion re­model to the 1993 T5 comes com­plete with 24 new re­tail shops and restau­rants.

It in­cludes new din­ing op­tions, with Ital­ian, Mex­i­can and Amer­i­can cui­sine plus restau­rants like Wow Bao, Big Bowl, R.J. Grunts Burger & Fries and Ur­ban Olive. In ad­di­tion to the new 10,000-square-foot duty-free store, re­tail­ers in­clude bou­tiques by Sal­va­tore Fer­rag­amo, Lux­ury Watches, Em­po­rio Ar­mani, Swatch and Chicago-based Vos­ges Haut-Cho­co­lat.

Au­to­mated Pass­port Kiosks Are Com­ing to At­lanta In­ter­na­tional (ATL), has an­nounced the pur­chase of 74 Au­to­mated Pass­port Con­trol (APC) BorderX­press kiosks from the Van­cou­ver Air­port Au­thor­ity. The in­no­va­tive kiosk tech­nol­ogy typ­i­cally cuts pas­sen­ger wait times in half.

ATL is the lat­est air­port to de­ploy the kiosks, which are cur­rently in use at in­ter­na­tional air­ports in Van­cou­ver, Mon­treal, Chicago O’Hare and Mid­way, Seat­tle-Ta­coma (SEA), and New York’s JFK - Ter­mi­nals 1 and 4.
