Swiss Gets First "Allergy-Freindly" Certification

Business Traveler (USA) - - UPFRONT -

Swiss Air has teamed up with the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) to offer guests with allergies a more comfortable travel experience. The carrier has introduced a number of innovative ground and inflight products designed to enhance the air travel experience for allergy sufferers.

These innovations include new alternative (lactose- and glutenfree) food and drinks, along with cabin interior changes. Modifications are being made to the cabins as well, with the elimination of decorative flowers and air fresheners that can cause sinus irritations and the use of gentler soaps in the lavatories. First and Business Class passengers will have an option of synthetic pillows as opposed to the down-filled variety.

With all of the changes Swiss Air has made, they are the first airline to receive the ECARF seal of approval as an “allergy friendly ”airline.
