South­west Scim­i­tar Slices Fares

South­west has a new “doohickey”on their planes ac­cord­ing to their lat­est pro­mo­tion. The winglets, called split scim­i­tars, save fuel and con­sumers get in on the ac­tion. Ac­cord­ing to South­west’s web­site,“These new winglets will help save us ap­prox­i­mately 3.5 - 5.5 per­cent in fuel costs, and we’re pass­ing those sav­ings on to you in the form of sale fares as low as $69 one-way.”

Flights must be booked for travel be­tween Au­gust 25 and Oc­to­ber 30 and they hit lots of cities from Akron-Can­ton, OH to Bos­ton Lo­gan, Denver to Love Field in Dal­las and both Dulles and Rea­gan Na­tional in Wash­ing­ton, DC.
