Delta Launches In­ter­na­tional WiFi Ac­cess

Delta Air Lines will launch in­ter­na­tional WiFi ser­vice on flights de­part­ing LAX and ATL to Narita In­ter­na­tional Air­port in Tokyo. The Boe­ing 747-400 air­craft op­er­at­ing the ser­vice are equipped with Ku-band satel­lite WiFi.

In­tro­duc­tory pric­ing op­tions be­gin with one hour passes for lap­top users as low as $14 and $8 for mo­bile users. The flight pass op­tion, which keeps cus­tomers con­nected through­out their flight, start at $24.95 for lap­top users and $14.95 for mo­bile users.

All of Delta’s 747-400 air­craft will have Wi-Fi in­stalled by mid-2014. By the end of 2015 Delta plans to com­plete the in­stal­la­tion of WiFi ser­vice on its en­tire in­ter­na­tional fleet.
