US Air­ways Takes Its Fi­nal Bow in Oc­to­ber –

Amer­i­can Air­lines has US Air­ways mar­que will take place this Oc­to­ber. US Air­ways’ last de­par­ture, Flight 434, is sched­uled to leave San Fran­cisco for Philadelphia on the evening of Oct. 17. At that point air­port kiosks, gates, and ticket coun­ters will get new Amer­i­can sig­nage and the US Air­ways web­site will be taken down.

How­ever only the let­ter code on the reser­va­tion will change, from US to AA. re­main the same.

While the air­line will be op­er­at­ing tech­nol­ogy changes to be made af­ter Oc­to­ber and a num­ber of planes will still bear the US Air­ways livery. New paint jobs on all air­craft won’t be com­pleted un­til late 2016, the air­line says.
