As other players in the smartwatch space elbow one another out of the way to pack the most into those tiny cases, the Cogito Original has pretty much stuck with its original premise: A Bluetoothconnected device you wear on your wrist that’s an extension of your phone. You can conveniently screen your calls with incoming caller detail on a classic watch face and choose to answer or dismiss.

What sets the Cogito Original, and it’s spin-off products, the Cogito Pop and Cogito Fit, apart from the others is its power source. No plug-in inductive charging cradles and search for the AC outlet here; this watch runs on a standard button battery that’s user replaceable. And, according to the literature, that should need to happen only about once a year.

physical movement to your phone where an app displays your activity and the number of The Original is available in a variety of colors with either silicon, nylon or leather bands, or fewer functions at a lower price point, and comes in brighter, less traditional color combinations.
