Delta Ho­tels Joins Mar­riott Re­wards

Mar­riott Re­wards has ex­panded to in­clude Delta Ho­tels and Re­sorts, the Cana­dian ho­tel brand ac­quired by Mar­riott In­ter­na­tional in April 2015. Re­ward mem­bers can now earn points or miles and Elite night cred­its, and re­deem for free night stays at 21 Delta Ho­tels across Canada. The brand’s 14 re­main­ing Cana­dian prop­er­ties are set to join the pro­gram in late April.

Delta Priv­i­lege mem­bers will also now en­joy the full ben­e­fits of Mar­riott Re­wards mem­ber­ship, in­clud­ing the abil­ity to earn and re­deem points at over 4,000 Mar­riott ho­tels glob­ally.

Thanks Again, the air­port retail loy­alty pro­gram, has teamed up with tech­nol­ogy de­sign and im­ple­men­ta­tion firm Co­march Inc., to pi­lot a smart­phone app at Bur­bank Bob Hope Air­port. The app will pro­vide trav­el­ers with spe­cial of­fers and dis­counts through push no­ti­fi­ca­tions on both iOS and An­droid devices.

Blue­tooth Low En­ergy (BLE) bea­cons are used to tar­get trav­el­ers with of­fers based on their cur­rent lo­ca­tion and prox­im­ity to air­port stores and restau­rants. The app’s dig­i­tal mar­ket­ing is driven by the data col­lected, so Thanks Again can pro­vide rel­e­vant ads and of­fers to each in­di­vid­ual user.

Thanks Again is a pro­gram that en­ables mem­bers to earn points when they shop, park and dine at thou­sands of re­tail­ers in and around more than 100 air­ports. The pi­lot app launches at Bur­bank Bob Hope Air­port on March 1, with the full launch sched­uled for April at all ex­ist­ing Thanks Again air­ports.
