SINGAPORE AIRLINES GETS ITS FIRST AIRBUS A350-900
Singapore Airlines has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-900, the beginning of a firm order of 67 aircraft which includes seven ultra-long-range A350s for which the carrier will be the launch customer in 2018.
The initial delivery of A350s will carry 253 seats in three classes, 42 in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy Class and 187 in Economy Class. The aircraft will first be operated on flights within Asia, and will begin long-haul services to Amsterdam, starting May 9.
When the ultra-long-range A350-900ULRs enter the fleet, they will serve the re-launch of the world’s longest non-stop flights, between Singapore and NewYork, as well as to Los Angeles and a third, as yet undisclosed, destination in the United States.
