Sin­ga­pore Air­lines has taken de­liv­ery of its first Air­bus A350-900, the be­gin­ning of a firm or­der of 67 air­craft which in­cludes seven ul­tra-long-range A350s for which the car­rier will be the launch cus­tomer in 2018.

The ini­tial de­liv­ery of A350s will carry 253 seats in three classes, 42 in Busi­ness Class, 24 in Premium Econ­omy Class and 187 in Econ­omy Class. The air­craft will first be op­er­ated on flights within Asia, and will be­gin long-haul ser­vices to Am­s­ter­dam, start­ing May 9.

When the ul­tra-long-range A350-900ULRs en­ter the fleet, they will serve the re-launch of the world’s long­est non-stop flights, be­tween Sin­ga­pore and NewYork, as well as to Los An­ge­les and a third, as yet undis­closed, des­ti­na­tion in the United States.
