Shangri-La Expands Golden Circle
To commemorate the fifth anniversary of its Golden Circle loyalty program, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has introduced five new benefits for the program’s members.
Multiple room earning: Members can now earn points for up to three rooms when traveling with family members or business associates.
Earn with redemption nights: A‘free’night redeemed using Golden Circle points will now count toward achieving member status.
Rollover nights: Members who have stayed enough nights to reach top-tier (Jade and Diamond) status, can now count extra stays toward the points needed to achieve next year’s membership status.
Buy or gift points: Members can now top off their balances or donate points to others. Points are sold in 100 point increments at $13 per 100 points. Members can purchase up to 6,000 Golden Circle points per year. Instant Dining Awards: Golden Circle members can use their points to dine at restaurants and outlets managed by Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
In addition, between now and June 30, GC members can also earn double points when dining at participating restaurants at Shangri-La, Hotel Jen, Kerry Hotels and Traders Hotels. The promotion is valid Monday to Friday, and requires members to register beforehand.
Members will also receive a $1,500 discount from Victor Private Jet on their first booking with the company through its iOS app. The offer is available through to the end of the year.

Among the new program updates for 2016: A simplified structure featuring two tiers – Insider and Elite. Instant benefits for all members. New for 2016 – an upgrade upon availability for members at both tiers and 50 percent bonus points earning for Elite members. Popular benefits members can still enjoy include complimentary Internet and priority early check-in/late check-out for both Inside and Elite members, and a welcome amenity for Elite members, in addition to points for eligible bookings.
A new points earning structure of 10 points per dollar on eligible bookings. The number of points needed to redeem Reward Certificates has also been increased so there has been no devaluation in the earning/redemption process.

Amtrak Double Days Are Back
