To com­mem­o­rate the fifth an­niver­sary of its Golden Cir­cle loy­alty pro­gram, Shangri-La Ho­tels and Re­sorts has in­tro­duced five new ben­e­fits for the pro­gram’s mem­bers.

Mul­ti­ple room earn­ing: Mem­bers can now earn points for up to three rooms when trav­el­ing with fam­ily mem­bers or busi­ness as­so­ciates.

Earn with re­demp­tion nights: A‘free’night re­deemed us­ing Golden Cir­cle points will now count to­ward achiev­ing mem­ber sta­tus.

Rollover nights: Mem­bers who have stayed enough nights to reach top-tier (Jade and Di­a­mond) sta­tus, can now count ex­tra stays to­ward the points needed to achieve next year’s mem­ber­ship sta­tus.

Buy or gift points: Mem­bers can now top off their bal­ances or do­nate points to oth­ers. Points are sold in 100 point in­cre­ments at $13 per 100 points. Mem­bers can pur­chase up to 6,000 Golden Cir­cle points per year. In­stant Din­ing Awards: Golden Cir­cle mem­bers can use their points to dine at restau­rants and out­lets man­aged by Shangri-La Ho­tels and Re­sorts.

In ad­di­tion, be­tween now and June 30, GC mem­bers can also earn dou­ble points when din­ing at par­tic­i­pat­ing restau­rants at Shangri-La, Ho­tel Jen, Kerry Ho­tels and Traders Ho­tels. The pro­mo­tion is valid Mon­day to Fri­day, and re­quires mem­bers to reg­is­ter be­fore­hand.

Mem­bers will also re­ceive a $1,500 dis­count from Vic­tor Pri­vate Jet on their first book­ing with the com­pany through its iOS app. The of­fer is avail­able through to the end of the year.

Among the new pro­gram up­dates for 2016: A sim­pli­fied struc­ture fea­tur­ing two tiers – In­sider and Elite. In­stant ben­e­fits for all mem­bers. New for 2016 – an up­grade upon avail­abil­ity for mem­bers at both tiers and 50 per­cent bonus points earn­ing for Elite mem­bers. Pop­u­lar ben­e­fits mem­bers can still en­joy in­clude com­pli­men­tary In­ter­net and pri­or­ity early check-in/late check-out for both In­side and Elite mem­bers, and a wel­come amenity for Elite mem­bers, in ad­di­tion to points for el­i­gi­ble book­ings.

A new points earn­ing struc­ture of 10 points per dol­lar on el­i­gi­ble book­ings. The num­ber of points needed to redeem Re­ward Cer­tifi­cates has also been in­creased so there has been no de­val­u­a­tion in the earn­ing/re­demp­tion process.
