1917 For­merly the State Guest House of Shang­hai, the build­ing was used by Chi­nese his­tor­i­cal fig­ures, such as Chair­man Mao Ze­dong and Premier Zhou En­lai. Dur­ing the War of Lib­er­a­tion, it was also the head­quar­ters of the Com­mu­nist Party in the city. In March this year, Great Bri­tain’s Prince Wil­liam at­tended the in­au­gu­ra­tion of the ho­tel’s Villa One of the Mor­ris Res­i­dence.
